The Paul Smith Cycling Collection

Our new cycling collection – including jerseys, bib shorts, base layers, hats and more – makes its debut at the historic Herne Hill Velodrome in south London, worn by six real cyclists.

Forgive us if we sound like a broken record, but Paul loves cycling. A keen cyclist since childhood, he continues to be a staunch advocate for pedal power to this very day. He’s designed bicycles, amassed an enviable collection of rare jerseys, bikes, and cycling ephemera (just a fraction of which was recently the subject of an exhibition in Florence), and counts some of the sport’s biggest stars as close friends. Now, we’re very excited to present our first full collection of cycling apparel and accessories. While we’ve been designing and selling cycling kit for a few years now, we’ve never created such a comprehensive range, covering everything from jerseys and bib shorts to base layers, socks, gloves, and hats.

Far more than just a place to knock precious seconds off those lap times, Herne Hill Velodrome serves as a focal point for the community of cyclists that has gathered around it. Lasting friendships, camaraderie, a sense of belonging – the velodrome provides it all. As Izu neatly explained it: “The word ‘velodrome’ sells the place short. It’s rare to find a place where toddlers and septuagenarians can gather to enjoy the same sport.”

As for the collection itself, it proved a hit with our makeshift peloton. “I feel like every time I put it on, I find another little touch or piece of whimsy. The technical fabrics are fantastic, and I love the prints and patterns. I am not a cyclist known for wearing muted, understated tones, so I love it,” Adam told us. “The kit speaks for itself – I have never had so many compliments about my attire!”, Alfie added.
