Paul’s World of Cycling

To coincide with this year’s Tour de France kicking off in Florence, we created Paul’s World of Cycling – an exhibition of bikes, rare jerseys, and all manner of cycling ephemera from Paul’s personal archive.

To celebrate this year’s Tour de France beginning in Florence, the team behind the Pitti Uomo fashion fair – in collaboration with Rouleur magazine – hosted the inaugural edition of BECYCLE, a new cycling-focused event. As part of BECYCLE, we were invited to mount a one-off exhibition in tribute to Paul’s lifelong obsession with the sport. Since his teenage years spent as an aspiring race cyclist – a would-be career cut short by a fateful crash, which diverted him towards a career in fashion – Paul has remained immersed in the cycling world, building strong connections to some of the world’s most respected cycling teams, bike makers, and star riders.

As with many of Paul’s passions, his love of cycling has also manifested in the act of collecting. Over the course of decades, he has amassed an enviable personal archive of bikes – from the antique to the cutting edge – vintage jerseys, and all manner of cycling ephemera, a collection which rarely leaves his office. Paul’s World of Cycling took just a small portion of this archive and put it on display, providing visitors with a unique opportunity for a close-up look.

Following on from our recent return to Pitti Uomo where Paul personally presented the SS25 collection, he also appeared at BECYCLE for an in-conversation event with Fabio Genovesi, during which he gave a bit of insight into the items he chose for the exhibition, as well as his history as a dedicated cycling fan. If you weren’t lucky enough to be in Florence to see it for yourself, then thankfully there were photographers on hand to capture the action. Enjoy this exclusive look at Paul’s World of Cycling.

A Look Inside Bar Paul

Our recent Pitti presentation transformed Florence’s historic Villa Favard into ‘Bar Paul’ – a loving recreation of the Italian late-night cafes Paul frequented in Soho in the 1960s. Join us as we have a look around.
